Mission of Hope was open every day during 2020 despite COVID-19 and the Derecho which impacted our city in August 2020. We provided food assistance to the community by serving 26,261 weekday lunches, 33,264 meals from our Food Pantry and 6,412 meals from our Weekend Meal Sacks We taught Faith & Finances programming once before Covid-19 hit, and had 7 program graduates. Our Resource Room provided 3,068 items of clothing/blankets to help clients prepare for jobs, job interviews and other general assistance. We also help clients transitioning into housing by partnering them with local furniture donations and household goods. Mission of Hope provided food assistance to our community by serving 28,018 weekday lunch meals, 20,888 meals from our food pantry and 14,040 meals from our Meal Sack program. We rescued 76,387 pounds of food from community partners, and received 23,491 pounds of donated food to help sustain these programs. We provided 757 families with 4,988 clothing items from our clothes closet. Our representative continued teachiing work-life programs at Hope Community Development Association. We helped our neighbors transitioning into housing by partnering them with local furnature donations and household goods.
