Marine Wildlife Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation: SR3s SeaLife Rescue Center is the only marine wildlife specialty hospital in the Pacific Northwest. The Rescue Center provides specialized care to sick or injured marine animals who need time to heal before returning to their ocean home. By collecting marine mammal samples of data, SR3 contributes to increased health surveilance and advances marine conservation efforts.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$520.6KMarine Animal Health Research
Research: SR3s research program helps address the root causes of marine animal health issues. By collecting critical health data from vulnerable marine animal populations, we inform conservation actions important to their survival. A major focus of this program is the endangered southern resident killer whales, conducting health assessments that drive better decisions on: fisheries management to preserve their precious food resources, actions to protect critical habitat, and policies to safeguard their survival.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$340KMarine Animal Emergency Response
Response: SR3s expert first responders stand by ready every day to deliver emergency care for suffering marine animals - from injured seal pups to engangled humpback whales. Important data is also collected during rescue operations, helping reveal the cause of these animals suffering in order to drive vital conservation efforts, remediate negative human impacts, and protect more animals.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$123.9K
