Legislative education and engagement: During the 45-day legislative session, Better Utah Institute provided information to the general public on the legislative process and ways by which they could be engaged in that process through its own distribution channels and in conjunction with print, television, and radio media. Voter engagement: Better Utah Institute encouraged and facilitated civic engagement and worked to make Utah government more transparent to Utah citizens. Better Utah Institute hosted a series of state legislative debates in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Utah, published a comprehensive guide of the electoral system in Utah, and published a guide of the various ballot propositions found on the 2020 ballot. Issue Education: Better Utah Institute used its expertise in paid and earned media to educate the public about and bring attention to current important issues, including public health, police reform, racial justice, voting rights, election security, abortion, reproductive justice, and accountability issues, among many others.
