SAFE STREET SUMMIT: The Safe Streets Summit brings together national speakers, elected officials, planners, engineers, and community partners to work toward designing safer and better-connected transportation facilities for all modes, ages, and abilities. MIAMI-DADE AGE-FRIENDLY INITIATIVE (AFI): is a collaborative effort focused on sustainable changes and efforts in order to create a community where older adults of all ages can stay active, engaged, and healthy with dignity and enjoyment. MIAMI GARDENS PROJECT: Through the CDC's REACH Grant, UHP has been assisting the City of Miami Gardens with improving their city's biking infrastructure and initiatives. Currently, UHP is in Year 4 of the 5-Year Grant project and has so far led several successes for biking in Miami Gardens in collaboration with the City. One of those successes was implementing a GIS Mobility Map for residents to access information on existing and upcoming bike lanes and trails, an inventory of community assets and destinations to guide future planning of bike projects, and numerous other data to support analysis and assessment of mobility in the City.
