Comprehensive Humanitarian Assistance
For the year ended December 31, 2023, Pure Hands, Inc. operated the following programs:(i)Food security and Agriculture Sector:Due to the conflict and continuous crisis, Yemen is the most significant food security emergency in the world. In response to the urgent need, Pure Hands provides emergency food assistance as follows: 1.Food Baskets distribution2.Schools Students Feeding3.Supporting Bakeries and Free bread distribution 4.Free meal distribution Project5.Qurbani Meats distribution (ADAHI) 6.Economic EmpowermentA total of 249,916 people benefited from food assistance for the year ended December 31, 2023.(ii) Health Sector: Pure Hands plays a vital role in delivering primary healthcare services through its health sector programs, which aim to provide access to primary healthcare, improve the response to emergencies, and help prevent diseases. 1.Medical cash assistance for needy Patients (Internal & External)2.Supporting psychological Health Activities3.Hospitals and Medical Centers Operational Support4.Dialysis patients support5.Support and Rehabilitation of Hospitals and Medical Centers6.Medical Camps and Campaigns7.Medical ShipmentsA total of 212,426 people benefited from Health interventions for the year ended December 31, 2023.(iii)WASH Sector:With the collapsing health and WASH facilities, transmitted disease outbreaks will continue to pose a significant threat to the lives of millions. Yemen faced the worst cholera outbreak in 2017. Pure Hands provides emergency water sanitation and hygiene services and assistance to highly vulnerable people with implementing the following projects:1.Wells Drilling2.Construction and rehabilitation of water harvesting systems3.Water Trucking4.Dams and Water Barriers ConstructionA total of 39,234 people benefited from WASH assistance for the year ended December 31, 2023.(iv) Shelter Sector:Since 2015, nearly 15 percent of the entire population, 4.3 million people, have been forced to flee their homes; 3.3 million people are still displaced. Nearly one-third of all IDPs (Internal Displaced People) live in the district across the country with the highest convergence of complex, and multi-dimensional problems.
