Community Food Assistance Programs
The following events were run during the year; monthly round table,the Victor Farmington Library ran Books on Bed program in collaboration with food cupboard and provided emergency food services, "Stomp out Hunger" food collection to encourage the community to donate food, Farmington Victor Kiwanis set up Santa Toy giveaway at the food cupboard, food resource fair at the Wood Library, Thanksgiving and Christmas Mass Food Distributions, Interview with Channel 8 for the food for families program, annual Foodlink conference with all other Foodlink affiliated programs, BSA 6060 helped sort donations, participated in the Finger Lakes College Student Wellness Fair, Q&A about the food cupboard at a recycling event Victor High School, and participated in the Memorial Day Parade. (Continued on Schedule O)The Victor Famington Food Cupboard delivers food upon request to the homeless, quarantined, medically fragile, and food insecure folks who lack transportation. We deliver using our van or private vehicle on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and (in emergency situations) on weekends. We are averaging 25 deliveries per week. Hotels housing homeless families are given a 3 day pantry pack of food, and families with full kitchens are given a Foodlink 5 day pantry pack.
