Taught creative writing courses in 8 Minnesota state correctional facilities. 26 full 10-15 week long courses taught in 2020 plus guest teachers and shorter courses. Some courses were delivered remotely due to pandemic restrictions on in-person programming. Administered a one-to-one mail mentor program in which incarcerated writers corresponded monthly with experienced writers and editors outside of prison. Incarcerated writers sent 20-40 pages of creative work each month and mentors responded with detailed personalized feedback suggestions and encouragement. Presented public readings of work written by incarcerated Minnesotans. Readings were both in-person and virtual. Incarcerated and formerly incarcerated writers read their work alongside renowned writers in the community.
