Youth Development and Support Programs
During 2020, the Alleganey Franciscan Ministries continue to fund core activities for the organization during the pandemic. The partnering organizations participated in the testing Go Skills Workforce Development Certificate through the OCYC learing Portal. All fundamental components are completed. Implemented a Laptop Program providing 20 Laptops and the process of registering/transparent tracking program. 1) Continued implementation of State of Florida Ounce of Prevention Program through Subgrants that delivered services through five community organizations and more than 60 youth and children. OCYC receives funding through State service providers to provide services to the children, youth and families in the Overtown community of Miami, FL. The Coalition has over 25 members and serves over 1,500 children, youth, and families. Our accomplishments included, but are not limited to over 125 school age youth received laptops to close the digital gap; annual I am lives and prepare them for a lifetime of success; over 95%of the youth served and demonstrated an increase in the literacy proficiency.
