Local Color Program
Public Art & Creative Services engages with artists for innovative projects with creative freedom and equitable pay to produce vibrant works representative of the unique perspectives in San Jos. Local Color was established on the principle that artists and creatives draw vital connections between people and place. Local Color builds economic opportunities for emerging and established local artists to drive the citys visual identity. Local Color employs artists for innovative projects with creative freedom, equitable pay, and regional platforms and produces vibrant works representative of the unique perspectives in San Joss neighborhoods. When Public Art is created by local artists, it provides meaningful collective experiences for the community. In our seven years of operations, we have paid out $536,479 directly to artists.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$346.6KLocal Commons Initiative
