Maui Wildfire Relief Initiative
Maui Relief - HFUF provided immediate emergency relief after the wildfires in Maui on October 8th, 2023. This included food, health supplies, housewares, and many other supplies. Over 50k visits and 119k items were distributed. HFUF provided small grants to farmers impacted by the fires to support their recovery of equipment, plants, and supplies. Kamehameha Schools - Develop and strengthen the Kuia Agricultural Education Center in Lahaina that teaches Hawaiian cultural and agricultural practices to the West Maui community, including children, youth and adults. Aina Fellowship- scholarship Kamehameha Schools awarded Kaipo in recognition for his leadership skills. The Aina Fellowship program provides three years of funding to a Hawaiian leader with demonstrated leadership in solving and improving their community's challenges.
