Housing First Program for Homeless Individuals
VSH's Housing First program consists of scattered site projects that provide rental assistance and housing stabilization supportive services for formerly chronically homeless individuals who reside with third-party landlords in our communities. The Housing First program is VSH's largest scattered site program funded through multiple HUD Continuum of Care (CoC) competitive grants. VSH's Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program provides homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing assistance to veteran households in Charlottesville, Central Virginia, and Balance of State regions in Virginia. In 2022, the program served 491 Veterans. HomeLink is VSH's second scattered-site permanent housing program serving chronically homeless households in Richmond. It is funded through a single consolidated HUD Continuum of Care (CoC) grant and receives additional funding through a Richmond Non-Departmental grant, HUD HOPWA funding for households with a HIV/AIDS diagnosis.
