  • Senior Services Grant Program
    Aging Initiative--$228,406: PHF provided grants to four non-profit organizations offering a range of services to seniors including delivery of hot meals to older, homebound seniors, lunch meal program with activities, liquid nutrition supplement and shelf stable food boxes, transportation, personal hygiene products and programs and workshops focused on purpose and increasing connections for improved well- being among others. A tangible result to date from this grant is the collaboration that has occurred between several organizations providing services to seniors in Transylvania County.

  • Home Repair Assistance Program
    Home Repair Grant: PHF provided grants to five non-profit organizations to address the home repair needs of their clients. Over 115 home repair projects were completed which impacted over 140 individuals. While the majority of home repairs addressed the needs for the elderly and disabled populations, some grantees participated in the Healthy Opportunities Pilot Program and include serving families with children who were living in unsafe and/or unhealthy living environments. These repairs made impacts in such areas as helping improve community health, increasing the ability of older adults to age in place, making homes stable and significantly improving living conditions for families in need.
