Comprehensive Academic Programs
The University is a comprehensive university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention offering bachelors, masters, and doctorate degrees. Located on approximately 398 acres in the upstate region of South Carolina near the foothills of the Appalachians, the University features a rigorous education in a supportive Christian atmosphere. The main sources of revenue are tuition, fee, and auxiliary enterprise income as well as contributions from the public. ACADEMIC PROGRAM The Organization offers 63 baccalaureate majors, 39 major-embedded concentrations, as well as 56 minors and three undergraduate certificates. The Organization also offers 19 master degrees and 7 graduate certificate programs in the fields of business, Christian studies, computer science, criminal justice, cybersecurity, education, music education, nursing, and pathology. At the post-master's level, the Organization offers an Ed.S. in Educational Systems Administration and 7 doctoral programs: Doctor of Ministry, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership, Doctor of Philosophy in Preaching, and Doctor of Education (two). HIGHLIGHTS OF THE 2023-2024 FISCAL YEAR Another Enrollment Record Established at Anderson University Anderson University is still the largest private university in South Carolina, with more than 4,200 students enrolled for the 2023-2024 academic year. Nearly 1,000 first-year students arrived on campus in the fall of 2023, which represents a 6.4 percent increase from the year before. Students in the Anderson University Class of 2027 represent 31 states and 12 countries. All told, more than 4,200 students are enrolled at Anderson University for the 2023-2024 academic year, which continues a 20-year trend of continued growth. For Fourth Year in a Row, Anderson University Ranked as a Great College to Work For Honor Roll Anderson University was named to the honor roll of the Great Colleges to Work For program, marking the fourth consecutive year AU has been honored by one of the largest and most respected workplace recognition programs in the country. Anderson University Expands eCampus.com Partnership with Launch of Trojan Textbook Program Anderson University announced the expanded partnership with online bookstore and collegiate retail solutions company eCampus.com to help transition to a new class material delivery program beginning fall 2023. The program will provide all undergraduate students with first-day access to all required course text materials, included in the cost of tuition, reducing the cost of attendance while improving access to course materials. This innovative program is part of Anderson's ongoing commitment to reduce the financial barriers that many students face when purchasing course text materials. Tri-County Technical College and Anderson University Announce New Transfer Program Tri-County Technical College (TCTC) and Anderson University (AU) signed an articulation agreement outlining a new transfer program that will support students who are looking to advance their education in business, criminal justice, early care and education, media arts production, and nursing. This is one of only a few formalized articulation agreements in South Carolina to include a reverse referral option. With a reverse referral, students who apply to Anderson University and determine they are not academically and/or financially prepared to attend the University are referred by AU to TCTC to begin their coursework. The student then has the option to transfer to AU once they complete transfer requirements. Anderson University Celebrates More Than 600 Graduates in its May Commencement Ceremonies More than 600 new graduates turned their tassels and marked a turning point in their lives as Anderson University graduates. During the Friday morning ceremony, held on the historic Alumni Lawn, graduates from Anderson University's College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, Center for Cybersecurity and the South Carolina School of the Arts received their degrees. During the Saturday morning ceremony, held at NewSpring Church, graduates from Anderson University's College of Christian Studies, College of Health Professions, Center for Leadership and Organizations, College of Education, College of Engineering, School of Interior Design and School of Public Service and Administration received their degrees. A Day to Give Continues to Exceed Expectations During A Day 2024, giving to Anderson University continued an upward trend. The 2024 A Day campaign raised a total of $824,374, which is an increase of 63 percent over last year. This year, Anderson University received a total of 858 gifts and pledges from 808 donors. A Day, which took place April 4, is a 24-hour campaign where Anderson University alumni and friends come together to support causes that help students and provide campus enhancements.
