Pet Rescue and Adoption Services
In 2021, 5,013 pets were surrendered by their owners to the shelter. 6,662 local stray animals were rescued. 456 pets were transferred from other Florida shelters and 1,520 pets were transferred in from high-risk shelters outside of Florida. 91% of these pets or 13,230 were saved by the Humane Society of Tampa Bay by providing temporary shelter for these homeless animals, placing these pets with responsible and prepared pet owners, spaying or neutering all animals prior to adoption, providing preventive medical care and treatment of illness and injury as well as microchipping.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2021 – Dec 31, 2021Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$5.2MAffordable Veterinary Care
Animal Health Center - offers affordable full service veterinary care to the public and provides the proper preventive treatment so pets can be protected from diseases. In 2021, 42,901 pets were seen at the Health Center. 30,777 pets received wellness exams, 12,124 had surgeries performed. 6,026 pets received sterilizations, including 3,588 feral cats. Community Outreach- Provides public education for the proper care and treatment of animals. Thousands of people are educated through distribution of educational material, newsletters and our website.
