In 2020, The Sea Turtle Hospital at Loggerhead Marinelife Center treated 113 sea turtle patients and admitted 802 hatchlings. Loggerhead Marinelife Center monitors 9.5 miles of beach which serves as a critically important nesting habitat for endangered sea turtles. The Research Department reported nearly 16,935 sea turtle nests and 43,511 sea turtle crawls in 2020. Approximately 800,000 hatchlings were produced on the beach during the 2020 nesting season. Over 35,000 individuals participated in one of the 39 district educational programs which included the Junior Marine Biologist Camp, field trips and conservation initiatives.
