    Provided education resources to more than 300 schools and educators throughout our 20 county service area. Education staff taught almost 800 classes and had more than 15,000 student contacts. Highlights include: Waste Reduction - *Recycling/Composting activities for 3853 students*Waste audits with 270 students *Developed four virtual class- room programs*Distributed more than 265 Non-Traditional Units Water Quality/Conservation - *Water activities for 5,816 students *Karst activities with 100 students*Household Hazardous Waste events for 165 participants*Urban Forestry activities for 406 students *Developed 7 virtual classroom programs, *Distributed 1,307 Non-Tradi- tional Units. *****Continued on Schedule O******

  • Program 2 [2021]

    Provided resources and education to community groups and residents throughout Central Kentucky. Most programs focus on energy efficiency, water quality and solid waste issues. This year, we reached more than 9,000 residents. Highlights include: Energy Efficiency Workshops*con- ducted 10 virtual workshops for 207 residents* Green Check is a certification program that provides businesses the resources they need to become more sustainable. The program offers four different levels to recognize increasing commitments to sustain- ability. In its fifth year, Green Check added 3 new businesses, bring- ing the total number of certified businesses to 28. ******continued below******

  • Program 3 [2021]

    ******Continued from above****** Conducted litter cleanups, including Main Street Clean Sweep, with 715 volunteers in 23 locations in 14 counties, who picked up 663 bags containing 8,287 pounds of litter. Organized six counties to work together on regional litter abatement and beautification programs through the Keep America Beautiful national program. Conducted recycling education and outreach to eight University of Kentucky Residence halls and engaged with 15 Eco-reps to reduce recycling contamination. ******continued on Schedule O******
