Act Like a GRRRL is an autobiographical writing program for young women to achieve a public voice, working with female mentors in professional creative fields, while engaging with peers from diverse backgrounds. ALAG gives girls the tools to critically analyze the culture in which they live, so that they become active change agents, rather than passive recipients of cultural messages. ALAG celebrates girls' strengths and voices and by so doing, promotes girls' leadership. 16 girls participated in the program during FY 2022. The program also includes offerings for adult women, with 13 women experiencing incarceration at the Debra K.
