Low-Income Housing Development
Development of low income housing: CMSC joins efforts with a private organization to develop low-income housing in Puerto Rico to serve the elderly and homeless veterans population. Currently, CMSC serves as the developer of a certain low-income housing project known as Casa Metropolitana II located in San Juan, PR. Such a project is being developed with low-income housing tax credit and the construction period is 24-months. Education Services: Provide an English course for adults residing in low-income communities.The course is geared to help the participants improve English oral and communication skills. This course is offered twice a year for a duration of 10 weeks, meetings 2 times a week at the Iglesia Cristiana Discipulos de Cristo Metropolitana. In 2023 the program served 40 partipants. Provide English language tutoring for second and third grade students at the at the Public Elementary Julio Selles Sola School, through a grant provided by Initial Teaching Alphabet Foundation English proficiency project in Puerto Rico. The program runs simultaneously with the academic school calendar, and tutoring is provided from Monday - Thursday for a duration of 2 hours.
