Post-Secondary Education Preparation
The organization provides education to students in the form of classroom instruction and labs geared towards equipping students with the necessary background to continue with post-secondary education after high school graduation. Classroom instruction is provided following a normal school day consisting of seven class periods. The school year falls within the normal pattern followed by schools within the region, beginning in August, and ending in May. School begins at 800am and ends at 310pm. The curriculum provided follows the required courses of instruction as set forth by the State of Louisiana, Department of Education. Additional honors courses are offered, as well. The school provides opportunities for upperclassmen to obtain college credit by offering dual-enrollment classes in english and mathematics. As part of providing a well-rounded education, the school offers sports programs, such as football, basketball, baseball, softball, track, golf and tennis. The organization provides after school care for students who either are unable to ride the school bus or their parents are unable to pick them up when the regular school day ends. This service is ancillary to the main purpose of the organization providing education to the students. The days the care is provided follows the regular school calendar.
