Government & Regulatory Management: The IAGC engages governments and stakeholders worldwide with informed scientific, technical and legal analysis to protect the environment and develop essential energy supplies. The IAGC monitors and educates members and organizes consistent industry positions on regulatory initiatives and policies affecting the geophysical and exploration industries to ensure continued access for energy exploration. Communications & External Affairs: The IAGC elevates the visibility of our members and the geophysical and exploration industry through external public and stakeholder engagement and media outreach. This includes industry events and public forums, external media products and campaigns, news media engagement, and initiatives to improve the public image of the industry. The IAGC also establishes strong cooperative relationships with relevant international and national trade associations and organizations to create alignment and enhance industry unity and effectiveness in advocacy and communications globally. Promoting the Health of the Industry: The IAGC facilitates continuous improvement and promotion of the industry's technological innovation, operations, and commitment to health, safety, security, and environment. The IAGC addresses issues that pose risk to the industry's regulatory and fiscal certainty, and recommends best practices, statements of principles and model contracts to promote environmental protection, safety, and efficiency. The IAGC tracks science with high impact potential and invests in scientific research to ensure critical knowledge gaps regarding the potential environmental effects of exploration activities are filled.
