Diversity and Inclusion Opera Program
Building on the success of FY23, FY24 was the continuation of our economic recovery from the Covid 19 pandemic. Our season highlights our commitment to opera supporting diversity and inclusion. We started in October, Hispanic Heritage month, with the Spanish production of La Medium at Fort Worth's historic northside venue, Rose Marine Theater. In February, we produced dwb (Driving While Black), showcasing this opera at both the Texas Christian University Van Cliburn Hall and the Kimball Art Museum Piano Pavillion. We were thrilled to return to Fort Worth's majestic Bass Performance Hall for a semi-staged production of the classic opera La Boheme. We ended our season in celebration of Juneteenth, inviting Morris Robinson to perform at the Texas Christian University Van Cliburn Hall.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2023 – Jun 30, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$1.1MFort Worth Opera Studio

Children's Opera Theatre, in existence for over thirty years, reaches over 30,0000 students each year in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Additionally, this department has expanded and repositioned itself to include Civic Impact and Engagement performances. This allows us to not only reach children in area schools, but also at events both adults and children are gathered. This year's shows produced for the children were Bienvenidos! and Hansel and Gretel.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2023 – Jun 30, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$426.8K
