  • Black Music Traditions Performance Season

    Performance Season which includes Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Tribute at St. Luke Episcopal Church which paid CMCH some money Black History Month Concert at St. Luke the Evangelist Church Philly Soul Concert III at Miller Outdoor Theatre and Legacy Project as well as Holman Building and Programming storage. Goal of the season is to showcase Black Music traditions by presenting a representative sample of black music genres including classical music written by black composers as well as spirituals jazz and Rhythm & Blues. Our legacy project concert and archival history honors artists and teachers who have made significant contributions to lack music traditions and works to preserve and present their history to the present and coming generations. Our audiences demographics varies but usually at least 65% of our audience is Black with audience totals of about 3,000. Currently our concerts are free to the public.

    Fee-based performances and Umbrella Programming. GIGs include African American Museum in Dallas Chopera Orchestra event in Houston wedding gigs and various ensemble Youth and or Adult gigs usually at Parks community centers museums etc. Above events present CMCHs musical groups like our predominantly Afro-American chamber orchestra or ensembles to a paying public or client. UMBRELLAD ORGANIZATIONS PROGRAMMING - to assist other organizations who may not have a 501c3 status with their programming.
