Friends of Waterfront Seattle is the nonprofit partner to the City of Seattle to help build, operate, program, and steward the future Waterfront Park, scheduled to open in 2025. The first piece of the park - Pier 62 - began programming in July 2021, as COVID public health guidelines allowed. Events and programs summary data includes: Total Events and Activations: 293 Total in-person programs attendance: 70,000+ Total organizational program partners: 50 Total artists and performers: 200+ Friends' 2022 activations featured more than 80% Black, Indigenous, and People of Color artists, performers, dancers, and storytellers as part of an ongoing effort to ensure that the park is welcoming and safe for everyone to call home in Seattle.
