Canine Companion Program for Veterans
Operation Canine Companion continues to receive awards for the work of providing Companion/Service dogs to those Veterans and First Responders who need support.Seven canines were donated to individuals including two of whom were seriously wounded Special Forces members. OWS held 4 Wellness events which were attended by NYC Department of Veterans Services, Mayors Office of Mental Health, NYPD, FDNY, Vietnam Veterans of America, Wounded Warrior Project, Brooklyn Borough Hall, and individual veterans. These sessions helped OWS towards its mission to heal the hidden wounds by giving confidence to those dealing with PTSD. OWS continued to gain support for their mission of Healing The Hidden Wounds by receiving NYC grants.
