National Science Messaging Research Project
A core mission of 314 Action is to promote data-driven fact-based approaches to public policy. As such 314 Action commenced a national science messaging research project of college educated suburban voters. The purpose of the project was to use qualitative and quantitative research to test the attitudes of voters on issues relating to science generally and specifically climate change, COVID vaccinations, mask mandates and the effect of the COVID pandemic had on the US economy. The goal is to better understand voters' attitudes toward core science issues and to be able to communicate effectively to these voters to engage in the electoral process. 314 Action built the foundation of a national STEM voter file that allows us to find more than 300,000 STEM professionals who have an interest in civic engagement and potentially a willingness to run for public office. This file allows 314 Action's team to engage these STEM professionals in a variety of ways. As part of 314 Action's core principle to increase civic engagement within the STEM Community, our President attended and presented at many scientific conferences in 2022 such as American Association for the Advancement of Science, WE22(Society of Women Engineers),and the American Geophysical Union. Attending these conferences allows 314 Action leadership to engage with policy makers, thought leaders and key activists. Once a quarter 314 Action hosted policy, political and informational briefings with supporters, activists and the public to give them access to experts in public policy, legislation, governing and science. Panelists included Lieutenant Governor of Michigan Garlin Gilchrist, Governor of Hawaii Josh Green, Rep. Kim Schrier and Rep. Sean Casten and a host of experts in many scientific fields.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$662.9K
