Volunteer Training and Client Support
The organization trained 34 new volunteers. A self-paced online volunteer training program with weekly live support/mentoring meetings was created. Volunteer training was expenaded to include advanced modules. Two grant proposals were submitted. Two fundraising campaigns were completed. The organization continued utilizing telehealth practices to serve clients during the pandemic and to help serve clients in rural communities. Staff and volunteers fielded 1145 email and phone inquiries and volunteer requests. Direct services were provided to 432 clients. The organization assisted with 107 planned deaths. A VOLUNTARY STOPPING EATING AND DRINKING TRAINING WAS HELD WITH 32 PARTICIPANTS ATTENDING. THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED WITH IN-PERSON VOLUNTEER SERVICES AND UTILIZED TELEHEALTH PRACTICES AS NEEDED. STAFF FIELDED 1,969 EMAIL AND PHONE INQUIRIES AND REQUESTS. DIRECT SERVICES WERE PROVIDED TO 570 CLIENTS. VOLUNTEERS ATTENDED 158 PLANNED DEATHS. VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED INFORMATION AND GUIDANCE TO APPROXIMATELY 62 PEOPLE CONSIDERING OR COMPLETING VOLUNTARY STOPPING EATING AND DRINKING. OUTREACH WAS PROVIDED TO 68 ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT OREGON, REACHING APPROXIMATELY 1,544 PHYSICIANS, MEDICAL STUDENTS, SOCIAL WORKERS, NURSES, HOSPICE WORKERS, AND MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC.
