THE BLOC HOSTED BOXING TRAINING FOR YOUTH AND ADULTS TO CONNECT YOUTH TO ACADEMIC, SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL, AND MENTORING SUPPORT. THE PROGRAM TRAINED 120 YOUTH THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. FIGHTERS IN THE PROGRAM ACHIEVED 100% HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION AND COLLEGE ACCEPTANCE RATES, ALONG WITH A 3.2 AVERAGE GPA. FIGHTERTS EMBARKED ON TRIPS TO COLLEGES, MUSEUMS, AND LOCAL ATTRACTIONS TO EXPAND THEIR AMBITIONS AND INTERESTS. FIGHTERS COMPETED IN LOCAL AND NATIONAL BOXING TOURNAMENTS. The Bloc used the sport of boxing to provide resources and opportunities to youth and communities on Chicago's West Side. Partnering with 220 youth, The Bloc offered athletic training, academic support, mentorship, college visits, and field trips to museums, cultural institutions, and attractions. Fighters in The Bloc maintained 100% high school graduation and college acceptance rates.
