Application format and required materials

Scholarship applications for the Alchemist Opportunity Fund scholarships from eligible students should use the form and follow the instructions posted on www.alchemistopportunityfund.org. Completed applications must include application form, transcript, financial information, and three references answering the questions detailed in the application form. The Ready Alchemist Foundation Awards are one-time grants made to graduating seniors who apply with information about their post-high school plan, and provide a recommendation from a teacher, friend or community member.Grants to nonprofit organizations are made throughout the year, and proposals are by invitation only. If you are an organization working in our target area with our focus population (young people ages 16-24) on our key areas of education, workforce development and expanding opportunity, we invite you to send us an email with more details about the work you are doing and your thoughts on how our missions may align.

Any restrictions or limitations on awards, such as by geographical areas, charitable fields, or kinds of institutions

Only students from the high schools in our service area, including those who attend CTE (career and technical education) centers, are eligible to apply for scholarships. These high schools are Hazen Union High School, Harwood Union HS, Stowe HS, Peoples Academy, and Lamoille Union HS; CTE Centers include Green Mountain Technical & Career Center, Central Vermont Career Center, and others. Scholarships are need-based and targeted to students from moderate-income families; documentation of financial need is required. Scholarships are multi-year and are renewable each semester when a 2.5 GPA is met, and transcript and schedule for upcoming classes are provided. In general, no student receives more than $6,000 over four years.Only students from the schools listed above are eligible to apply for the one-time Ready Alchemist Foundation Awards.
