Artist-Led Activation of Vacant Spaces: The YES! House is a multi-use community social and creative gathering space currently under renovation through an artist-led community design and build process. The organization launched a series of community build workshops in early 2020, but had to postpone all in-person engagements. Artist Residencies: Dakota Community Artist-in-Residence pilot project invited 3 artists from the Upper and Lower Sioux Communities to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, culminating in a COVID-safe gallery walkthrough. Building on the completion of the Dakota Community Artist-in-Residence pilot project, the Ignite Rural program began development on at-home artist residencies for BIPOC artists in SW Minnesota which will be implemented in 2021-2022.
