Education division currently offers dozens of specialized training opportunities online and in-person for continuing education credit through The Wildlife Society as well as academic credit through College of the Atlantic. In 2020, science division hosted grant-funded research into endangered wood turtles, launched the Penobscot Black Bear Study in collaboration with the Penobscot Nation, and was selected as a subcontractor to lead the wildlife field team for the USAID-funded stop spillover project. Science division also participated in a translocation project to reestablish populations of common loons in southeastern Massachusetts and continued a project researching the impacts of lead in wildlife. IN 2022, THE EDUCATION DIVISION OFFERED ONLINE, IN-PERSON, AND HYBRID COURSES FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT THROUGH THE WILDLIFE SOCIETY AND OUR PARTNER, THE ECOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF AMERICA. WE OFFERED 32 COURSES, TRAINING 361 STUDENTS AND 159 PROFESSIONALS IN APPLIED QUANTITATIVE ECOLOGY, GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SCIENCE, CONSERVATION PLANNING, AND RESEARCH, CONSERVATION, AND MANAGEMENT METHODS. MOST PARTICIPANTS (520) RESIDED IN NORTH AMERICA (460) WHEN THEY REGISTERED FOR THE TRAINING, FOLLOWED BY ASIA (21), AFRICA (13), EUROPE (12), OCEANIA (11), AND SOUTH AMERICA (3).
