Animal Care Program
Animal Care Program: For more than a year after opening NOCO Humanes Weld Campus in 2023 we met the needs of our community with determination and heart. In FY25 we cared for 11,016 animals in our two facilities created 5,259 new families and reunited 3,167 families with their lost pets .Each year hundreds of animals come through our doors in need of extra time and care before they are ready to be adopted. In FY25 1,014 animals recovering from illness growing older or simply learning to trust thrived in the care of our dedicated Foster Care volunteers getting ready for a new home. Whether inside our shelter or out in the community NOCO Humanes Behavior Team is dedicated to supporting pets with behavioral needs. 407 animals in our Pets Needing Patience program received tailored support focused on socialization stress reduction and building confidence. Animal Protection and Control: NOCO Humanes Animal Protection & Control team is on the front lines every day responding to calls and ensuring the well-being of both animals and people across Larimer County. In FY25 our officers responded to 14,078 calls for service resulting in 24,514 responses. Those included 4,327 stray animal calls 73 for aggressive stray animals 1,353 bite cases 888 barking complaints and 1,353 bite cases. Five of our Animal Protection & Control officers are commissioned Bureau of Animal Protection Agents through the Colorado Department of Agriculture allowing them to work with local law enforcement to enforce state-level animal cruelty and dangerous dog statutes. .Veterinary Services: Every animal who arrives at NOCO Humane receives expert medical attention from our Veterinary Services Team. In FY25 our team provided 13,921 vaccinations 4,119 spay neuter dental and other surgeries and skillfully cared for 789 animals with infectious diseases.
