Healthy Veterans/ Valor Farms
NCHV engages with Veterans through virtual interaction, case management of walk-ons and referrals, and a nine-month residential program. Integrating Christian best practices one veteran at a time 1) to heal the mind, body, and spirit; 2) to defeat isolation in community living, 3) to provide dignified work on active farm, ranch, and construction projects; 4) to deliver Christian trauma recovery and life skills programs, 5) to enhance career preparation and skills training, and 6) ultimately to prevent Veteran suicide.
Veterans that are accepted begin a program divided into 3 three-month modules. Resilience (Trimester 1), Trauma Recovery (Trimester 2), and Reentry (Trimester 3) where Veterans live in individual tiny homes within a Veterans’ Community Village. While some of our Veterans return home to their families, we have other veterans who do not have that support system. For those veterans, we are creating transitional housing to successfully move to and maintain permanent housing.
