Public Education on Home Rule
We launched programming to educate the public about state preemption and the importance of Floridas Home Rule Charter. in support of Floridas current net metering rules which provide fair compensation for residents who generate excess electricity on their properties. These policies empower Floridians to contribute clean energy to the grid while also enabling them to gain a level of energy independence. Unfortunately proposed changes by public utilities threaten to reduce this compensation which could undermine residents ability to offset their energy costs and weaken the growth of renewable energy in our state.
