Community-Led Restoration Projects
Community-Led Projects infuse volunteers into the neighborhood to be the hands and feet of community designed planned and let projects working to restore hope and vibrancy in the 9th precinct. With 87$ of our population gone this provides energy for once overwhelming projects. Volunteers can come for a day or stay awhile. Camp Restore houses feeds and coordinates volunteers from across the country to support community led projects in the 9th precinct. Community Violence Interruption Programs including Youth Mentoring Vocational Training Education Programming and Community Engagement. Centered in the 48205 zip code our areas have gained notoriety as a violent place to grow up. Land Reactivation Through Community Campus Development. This program started developing land surrounding Seymour and Chalmers in Detroit at the request of the community. We opened the Literacy House and have used the property as a training ground for the Landscape Academy with youth from our neighborhood.
