New Play Conference
New Play Conference.We held our national New Play Conference, May 30 June 5, returning to in-person programming. It included development work for 14 new plays. Each play include a team of creatives including the playwrights, dramaturgs, designers, directors and actors. Close to 500 people (including attendees) were involved. Community Programs. Our community programs ran throughout the year. The programs included year round development programs for beginning and advanced writers, regular community (local and national) discussions surround art and artists, arts workshops with other nonprofit organizations like Refugee Women Rising and Families in Action. Playfest. Our PlayFest season of fully produced plays included In the Upper Room, Stories on the Brink, and The Guadalupes. Each production was with in person audiences and each had a live streamed night.
