Mixed-Income Neighborhood Trusts Initiative
Trust Neighborhoods partners with neighborhood-based organizations to create Mixed-Income Neighborhood Trusts (MINTs) to prevent displacement, improve neighborhoods, and build community power in gentrifying areas. MINTs are an innovative structure combining community centric governance with mixed-income housing to ensure neighborhoods can become even better places to live while benefiting existing residents. Each MINT acquires and develops real estate subject to control by a Perpetual Purpose Trust stewarded by community stakeholders. Through 2023, Trust Neighborhoods has helped launch and scale four MINTs in Fresno, Tulsa, Kansas City, and Boston that have invested over $65 million to secure over 215 units of housing. Trust Neighborhoods provides capacity and expertise to its local partners supporting each MINT's growth and the refinement of the MINT model. Through 2023, these MINTs have served hundreds of residents, providing affordability, improving housing quality, and changing power structures to benefit community members.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$824.5K
