New Community Transformation Fund
AYA served as fiscal sponsor for the New Community Transformation Fund (NCTF) a private venture equity fund directing equity capital to businesses and entrepreneurs of color in Colorado. The philanthrophic dollars allowed them to reach full capacity with operations, finance and administation. This has allowed them to dedicate time to finding investors for the fund. Additionally, the funds allowed support of (1) the first and only place-based equity venture fund for business owners and entrepreneurs of color; (2) the Latino Leadership Institute entrepreneur accelerator for Latinx businesses and entrepreneurial hub, and (3) DivInc, a BIPOC-focused entrepreneur accelerator for tech industries.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$1.4MEntrepreneur Support for Black Entrepreneurs
AYA Foundation served approximately 70 entrepreneurs in 2022. Approximately 95% of the entrepreneurs served are of the African diaspora, the remaining 5% are entrepreneurs of color. AYA offers the following supports: (1) JumpStart My Biz (a business fundamental boot camp for aspiring or start-up entrepreneurs), (2) Nav to Connect One-on-One Business Coaching, (3) Professional Services and Technical Assistance for entrepreneurs, (4) Vision Board Party (a community gathering to envision our future), and (5) Friends and Family start-up grants to entrepreneurs. AYA provides skill-building, technical assistance, friends and family capital, and mindset readiness to Black entrepreneurs at the beginning of their journey. These supports decrease the burnout and discouragement that Black entrepreneurs feel and face due to discrimination and inequities in the market. When Black entrepreneurs have the confidence, the knowledge, networks, and confidence to build their wealth through business ownership, society benefits because our economy becomes more diverse. Diversity in economies provides consumers with choices; produces new products and services.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$97.2KBlack Business Initiative
