Program 1 [2021]
The organization distributes grants to deserving, financially disadvantaged patients to subsidize their cost of holistic intimate care services. In its inaugural year 2020, it supported 14 women in Los Angeles County and Santa Barbara County, California in accessing: (1) holistic prenatal care, which included support services such as chiropractic care, sound therapy, nutrition, and acupuncture; (2) holistic out of hospital birth care (at home or at birth center) that was culturally reflective of the client's race and ethnicity and the assistance of which was especially important in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and increased need for out of hospital birth options; and (3) holistic postpartum care, including doula services, lactation consultations, meal services, chiropractic care, and vaginal steam therapy, up to 3-months postpartum. Subsidies were paid directly to 17 different local care providers, thus supporting the growth and sustainability of the holistic intimate care practice so that many more patients may continue to access such care.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesSep 23, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$97.2KHICS Grant Program for Holistic Care
