Speak With Purpose Youth Program
SPEAK WITH PURPOSE (SWP) STANDS AS THE SOLE YOUTH PUBLIC SPEAKING PROGRAM INTEGRATED INTO CLASS HOURS ACROSS PARTNERING SCHOOLS IN KING COUNTY. IN 2023, SWP SERVED MORE THAN 750 SCHOLARS IN GRADES 4TH 8TH ACROSS SEVEN PARTNERING PUBLIC SCHOOLS. AMONG THESE SCHOOLS, FIVE ARE TITLE 1, CATERING TO SCHOLARS WITH THE GREATEST NEEDS, INCLUDING THOSE WHO IDENTIFY AS LGBTQIA+, ENGLISH-LANGUAGE LEARNERS, IMMIGRANTS, UNIQUE LEARNERS, AND/OR MCKINNEY VENTO YOUTH. Speak With Purpose (SWP) is the only youth public speaking program seamlessly integrated into classroom hours across partnering schools in King County. In 2024, SWP empowered over 750 scholars in grades 38 across six partnering public schools. Of these schools, six are Title I, serving students with the greatest needs, including those who identify as LGBTQIA+, English Language Learners, immigrants, unique learners, and McKinney-Vento youth.
