We Shall Read Literacy Program
In 2022, We Shall Read (WSR) offered significantly expanded programs to schools and the public. WSR expanded its reach to 10 different schools and 3 districts within Michigan (up from 3 schools and districts the previous year) to work with almost 300 teachers and educational professionals in the state (an increase of 240 people). This increased reach equates to over an estimated 5200 children in the state of Michigan being impacted by the work of teachers, tutors and educational professionals who've been trained in brain friendly instructional strategies in 2022. To accommodate that growth, additional staff were brought on to assist in trainings, mentoring and presentations. The core programmatic offering of WSR was launched in 2022--the MentorMe! Reading Training program. Additional wraparound services were created to layer on support for teachers and other trainees going through WSR programs--the Summer Literacy Series and Tools in 10! -- to go along with the 47 Virtual Monday Night Group Coaching Calls. WSR increased visibility in the literacy community by joining and presenting to the 313Reads! Coalition and presenting at the Michigan Reading Association's annual meeting in March of 2022. WSR held its first community outreach event at the Farmington Public Library for 50+ parents and caregivers on reading and spelling for 4-6 year olds. At a national level, WSR provided training and programming for an additional 3 schools and 63 more individuals, bringing the total number of schools/districts to 16, 397 persons trained, and an estimated impact on over 7100 children in 2022.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$124.7K
