Community Health Access Program
This program facilitates access to medical services for the community within the seven counties we cover, including preventive check-ups, monitoring for chronic conditions such as diabetes, dental and ophthalmological services, transportation, interpretation services, and referrals to specialists. It also allows for visits to the seven counties to conduct health screenings, including blood pressure and glucose measurements, with immediate referral to community clinics if there are abnormal results. Lastly, we promote enrollment in Medicaid and health insurance marketplaces.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$110KEmpowerment Through Education Initiative
Unidxs is dedicated to empowering the families we serve through education, which we believe is key to improving their health and overall quality of life. We champion disease prevention and the appropriate use of medical treatments. By bringing vital programs and workshops, such as our groundbreaking linguistic justice workshop with simultaneous interpretation (a first for Clay County), directly to the most rural and underserved areas of Western North Carolina, we ensure access for all. Furthermore, we actively work to raise awareness of community rights, facilitate access to both Spanish and English resources, offer essential services like tax clinics, citizenship and power of attorney assistance, passport clinics, and consular visits, and proudly participate in cultural and family events.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$40KHurricane Relief and Recovery Efforts
After the destruction of Hurricane Helene, a designated physical space was necessary to receive and manage aid for the affected community members. We received the following donations for hurricane relief Aid: electric generators, heating systems, clothing, food, cleaning supplies, diapers, gloves, sweaters, and coats; as well as limited funds to cover rent, lodging, the purchase of materials and/or tools, the purchase of food and supplies, and access to mobile internet services, in addition to the distribution of food supplies. We also organized events to facilitate direct communication between affected families and FEMA and other relief organizations, including interpretation and transportation services.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$370.4K
