WORKFORCE HOUSING LENDING CORPORATION
Programs
Housing Development Financing
The organization was newly established in 2022 and in 2023 focused on building its board of directors and technical committees, securing funding, and finding a lending staff member. Also, a funding agreement was executed with the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) to fund $1.5 million in loans from WHLC programs. The commitment from WHEDA is a 0% interest deferred payment loan and was finalized in 2023. Their loan requires a dollar-for-dollar match for each loan funded by our organization, so the board is working with the local foundation to raise matching dollars. In January 2024 a lender was hired to begin bringing the mission of the organization to life. In 2024 we met with many developers and had several potential loans in the pipeline, but none closed in 2024. We have since closed on a loan in 2025 with a developer that will be constructing 8 new housing units in Sturgeon Bay. We are consistently working with developers to deploy our unique financing tools to bring more housing projects to Door County and advance workforce housing development in the region.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$50.8K
