  • Youth Mentorship and Aviation Programs

    From July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023, we were just getting started with services and we mostly partnered with Big Picture Learnings Harbor Freight Fellowship initiative and worked with youth to match them with mentors in the skilled trades. We also partnered with EAA Chapter 613 and offered a summer camp for middle school youth from Missisquoi Valley Union district. We also partnered with Women in Aviation Vermont chapter to host a girls in aviation day, as well as EAA Chapter 613 to host a young eagle event that focused on girls.

    Youth Apprenticeship Training Program Our youth apprenticeship training program at Franklin County Airport in Swanton, Vermont, is preparing the next generation of airplane mechanics, avionics specialists, and pilots. Funds from our capital campaign will enable us to transform our 9,600 sq foot warehouse into a hangar where youth will work alongside trusted adults to earn their mechanics, avionics, and pilots licenses for both electric and conventional aircraft.
