Training and Development in Zambia
To paraphrase Paul in 1 Corinthians 16:9, ?a wide door for effective work has opened to us? in Zambia. To date, we have focused on developing a residential training facility in Lusaka the capital city. However, our team there has been conducting training in the Copperbelt province, about a 6-hour drive north of Lusaka. Along a 100-mile corridor within this province lie some of the largest cities in Zambia, representing a significant percentage of Zambia?s overall population. We have connected with and begun training for a number of churches and ministry networks. We have also made connections with two large conference facilities that have opened their doors to us for training. The possibilities here are enormous. Toward that end, we have re-directed our indigenous Zambian team from an attractional model that requires people to come to us to an apostolic model whereby we are sending our team to the people. Our reach will be much greater than we had envisioned if we can properly develop, equip, and deploy a growing cadre of instructors. 2. We have been piloting courses introducing lay persons in the US to Inductive Bible Study. After over three years of beta testing, we are ready to launch our first multi-site course offering this fall. The offering will consist of groups in the eastern half of the US gathering in their churches or ministry locations and joining a live Zoom call for weekly lessons. Upon completion of the six-week course, students will earn credit for the experience, and that credit will satisfy the pre-requisite requirements for the next course. This work is hard to quantify financially insofar as it involves a great deal of intangible resources and investment. 3. We completed filming of the second ?Through the Bible? course in a series featuring the teaching of Dr. Alan Meenan, founder and President Emeritus of The Word Is Out. The first course was filmed in Amarillo, Texas, at First Presbyterian Church Oct 2022. This more recent filming took place on the campus of Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky May 2024. We have funding in place to film two more courses, and our hope is to do a total of twelve courses?thus rounding out the series that Alan initially envisioned in the 1970?s.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$189.2K
