Aphasia is a difficulty with communication, speaking, or understanding words due to a stroke or brain injury. HARC has over 18 different rotating programs that are offered as a whole to all participants. Examples of the programs are conversations, music, art expression, book club, writing workshop, exercise, computer, and Aphasia Community Taskforce (ACT). Participants with aphasia will practice communication strategies during various activities within a safe, supported environment. Group topics range from personal and social current events to local and national news.In 2021, due to Covid-19, HARC conducted programs and meetings online. In February 2022, HARC resumed in-person offerings two days a week and four days virtually.
