Futurewise is committed to preventing the loss of Washington State's most valuable natural resource lands, ensuring clean healthy water, providing housing for all people at all income levels, and making it possible for people to walk, bike and take transit. Futurewise takes legal action and advocates for healthy, climate resilient, and equitable local planning and land use decisions across the state. In 2023, Futurewise won legal cases protecting farmland, wildlife habitat, water resources, and addressing community needs in Douglas, Snohomish, Pierce, and Spokane Counties. Futurewise provides technical assistance to local partners to advance healthy, climate resilient, and equitable outcomes for communities. In 2023, Futurewise worked with a local advisory committee to complete the GreenLink Port Angeles Master Plan for Lower Valley Creek, a green stormwater infrastructure, recreation, and economic development project.
