Senior Living Support Services
Through CRISTA Senior Living, 1,285 residents were served and $292,221 was provided to assist low income residents to remain in their homes. The Nursing Center provided 24,021 days of care for Medicaid recipients and Crista Shores Assisted Living provided 3,945 days of care for Medicaid recipients through their respective contracts with DSHS. Residents, family members, staff and other individuals volunteered 4,304 hours assisting other residents and tutoring elementary students. The Cristwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center was the clinical setting for nursing or nursing assistant students from two local universities and one community college. Senior residents operate a missionary commission which supports faith based volunteers around the world. Approximately 500 community service and faith based meetings occurred in our facilities accommodating residents and community attendees. World Concern partners to transform the lives of poor and marginalized people through disaster response and sustainable community development. The love of Christ compels us to pursue reconciliation and equip those we serve, so that they may in turn share with others. In the past year, World Concern was active in 15 countries, supporting those who are left out of the main stream of humanitarian aid because of their location, ethnic background or societal power. The organization served 6,837,180 individuals through program services including livelihoods, child protection, disaster response & risk reduction, water & sanitation, non-clinical health and economic development. CRISTA Schools operates at two different locations: King's Schools in Shoreline and Seattle Urban Academy (SUA) in Seattle. King's Schools had 1,221 K-12 students, 123 pre-K students. There were 40 high school students at Seattle Urban Academy. CRISTA Schools graduated 95 students and approximately 95% indicated that they planned to pursue higher education. Total financial assistance of $1,487,272 was provided to 306 students while an additional $1,617,945 was spent on the education of at-risk students. (At-risk students are required to pay 2% of costs for academic intensive care and student centered development). Approximately 85 students and 12 adults made 6 missionary/education trips. Over 556 elementary students supported food projects for local relief Agencies. Over 188 junior high students and 248 (4th, 5th & 6th grade) elementary students participated in community service day activities. Forty Seattle Urban Academy students served the community volunteering to build houses in Mexico, prepare food for the homeless and low income at Northwest Harvest, work with partnering church for their community event, beautify Kubota Garden in our neighborhood, serving senior citizens at a retirement home.
