Community Development and Support Program
Our efforts have had a significant impact on the Pokot community, bringing about positive changes in various aspects of life. We have increased the number of students who are able to attend elementary school from zero to 150 students in both of two communities with PP1, PP2 and 1st Grade. We provide food for the students as well ensuring they get nutrition to best learn. Catalyzed the registration of the two schools with the government to be able to transfer the responsibility to the country. We have provided clean water to over 2,500 people in the communities by providing water filters. Over 2000 people now have a closer source of water due to the water harvesting pans, water catchment systems and water piping systems. These same people now have access to farms and gardens from which they can grow more food for the community. We have provided emergency funding for individuals to receive life-saving medical treatment as well as community-wide assistance from natural disasters as well as tribal disputes. Over 2500 congregates have a safe and dry building in which to worship. With latrines built we have impacted over 1500 people with sanitation facilities. Over 20 high school girls had their life trajectory changed by having tuition paid for which saved them FGM. Three communities have women trained in sewing skills to provide a way to bring income and a source of clothing. We hosted Youth Camps for our kids with mentoring, special fieldtrips and discipleship, expanding the horizons of dozens of kids in the communities.
