Programs
Program 1 [2024]
We offered several classes in the Hinckley, East Lake, and Mille Lacs communities with over 800 participants attending. The classes included Beadwork, Hand-Painted Leather Belts and Bells, Ojibwe Pucker Toe Moccasins, Ribbon Skirts, Drums and Drumsticks, and 9 Block Blankets. In November 2024, we introduced additional classes, including Jingle Dress Regalia, Men's Woodlands Regalia, Women's Woodlands Appliqué, and Men's Fancy Bustles. We have worked with our District Representatives to establish community craft/sewing rooms in each of their respective districts. Bear Paws has donated over 25 machines to these craft rooms. Furthermore, in the past year, our tribe has initiated various cultural art classes, not only within our Health and Human Services programs but also through classes provided by our District Representatives for their respective communities. The tribal government has acknowledged the significance of these initiatives and the relationships that have been cultivated through these classes, and as a result, they are now incorporating them into their own programming. I am grateful that my ideas have opened up more opportunities for members of my tribal community.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$36.7K
