    ACSP conducts community-led research that concretely highlights disparities and harms resulting from policing and incarceration. This includes producing, publishing, andpresenting original data thats used by a variety of stakeholders to drive criminal legal system policy reforms, argue for better protections for criminalized people, and supportself-advocacy among community members working to build better futures for themselves and others.

  • Legal Advocacy And Community Engagement

    ACSP organizes around legal and policy information-sharing across Georgia. Through this work, criminalized people are empowered to self-advocate in the courts, before administrative bodies, and to engage civically.This work builds community safety and trust, specifically through an ever-growing library of self-advocacy resources that are shared electronically and in print; the maintenance of a quarterly prison newsletter; and ACSP hosting and participating in trainings and public events centered on constitutional and local rights and civic engagement education.

  • Legal Access Action Initiative

    ACSPs Legal Access Action connects volunteer attorneys to the work of jailhouse lawyers, building power and equity for better post-conviction and parole outcomes in Georgia by grounding our collective efforts in community-led legal advocacy. LAA provides free State Bar-approved CLE trainings and holistic support for lawyers taking on pro bono parole and DV survivor justice cases. Through this initiative, ACSP alsoprovides participatory defense and community support to public defenders, and catalyzes the support of volunteer law students while providing practical experiential learning opportunities.
